Pipeline Disinfection

Sanitization of the pipeline system is essential to eradicate bacteria before using initial plumbing in residential and commercial properties or after repairs or servicing. Sanitizing pipelines also eliminates other germs, and allergens and removes biofilms.

Biofilms are layers of bacteria that attach to the interior walls of water distribution pipes. Biofilms are found most heavily around corroded surfaces on pipes. Bio-film growth can begin on dirt deposits when the pipeline or distribution system is new. Key sources of this contamination can be debris from piping construction materials and bacteria from the environment introduced during the construction or repairs.
